Ecopods are available in two basic versions – Expandable and Integrated.
How Our Expandable EcoPods Work. With our innovative EcoPod expandable design, the setup is simple and fast. Setup usually takes only a few hours. Our Expandable Versions fold out to three times the footprint of the delivered size.
Flexible and Mobile. In this case yes you can take it with you. Quick disassembly, relocation, and reassembly are built in.
Diversified Applications. Our EcoPods can be used for housing, offices, educational facilities, medical facilities, tourism, rentals, hotel industry.
Customizable. Both the exterior and interior are fully customizable. Choose the number of rooms, room sizes, finishes, and many other options.
Sturdy and Durable. Made from high-strength steel. Excellent durability and resistance to wind, snow, seismic forces, and harsh environments.

- All Steel Frame Construction made of galvanized steel which is then powder coated with high-quality polyurethane.
- Reinforced Steel Roof National Building Code, (NBC) Snow Load Compliant, made of galvanized steel which is then powder-coated with high-quality polyurethane.
- All Steel Floors are constructed with reinforced steel.
- MgO Subfloor a high strength, tongue, and groove flooring sheet. Magnesium oxide (MgO) is a naturally occurring mineral that, when combined with other components, forms a strong, durable, and versatile subfloor.
- Aluminum Double Pane Windows come standard with all EcoPod models.
- Steel Doors with Double Pane Glass Exterior Entrance Doors.
- Mold, Mildew and Pest Resistant as EcoPod units are made of all steel and polyurethane construction without organic materials such as wood and drywall, as a result, they are highly mold, mildew and pest-resistant versus wood framed buildings.
- Rot and Decay Resistant as EcoPod units are made of all steel and polyurethane construction without the use of organic materials such as wood, asphalt shingles and drywall, they are highly resistant to rot and structural decay versus traditional wood framed buildings.
- Vinyl Plank Flooring is installed in all EcoPod units which is waterproof, mold and mildew resistant and very durable.

As with any building, a proper foundation is required for your EcoPod to rest on. Typical foundations are concrete or galvanized steel piers or insulated concrete forms, (ICF). As an option, we can lay the foundation for you. The price will vary depending on the foundation type, soil conditions, terrain and location.
In all cases, a Site Inspection will be necessary in order to assess best options and costs for Delivery to your building lot and Installing your Ecopod on your foundation. EcoPod offers Site Inspection Services for a flat rate of $1,500 which will be deducted from the cost of your purchase should you move ahead with your EcoPod project.
EcoPod Cottages, Garden Suites and Bunkies come standard with R18 Polyurethane Insulated wall and ceiling panels and R18 Polyurethane Foam Insulation in the floor joist cavities. Unlike fiberglass or rockwoll insulation, Polyurethane panels and foam will not collapse or deform, ensuring a lasting seal against heat loos and air infiltration for the life of the structure. Our windows are Framed Aluminum, our Exterior Doors are Insulated Steel and both feature Double Paned Glass for a superior seal against heat loss and air infiltration.

Unlike conventional wood framed buildings, EcoPod Structures are constructed entirely indoors and are shipped from our Cambridge Ontario facility to Your Building Lot and placed on Your Foundation in a Single Day!
This process ensures minimal disruption on your site such as destruction of natural terrain and noise, faster completion times versus framing and finishing on site in the elements, and significantly less construction waste going to your local landfill. Cottage living is a uniquely Canadian social experience and cottagers as a rule love to host and entertain family and friends. The perfect solution to enhance everyone’s enjoyment at the cottage is to add more room, ideally, one that offers a wonderful blend of a close host/guest experience along with the privacy and personal space that a guest house or garden suite would provide. EcoPod Cottages are specifically designed as guest suites with a wide variety of sizes, styles, and floorplans to choose from.

Your EcoPod purchase includes Stamped Engineered Drawings. Depending upon the size of the building and the municipality a Building Permit may be required. A Building Permit Application requires several components including but not limited to Engineered Drawings and a Site Plan. However, in many municipalities a stand-alone structure of 160 sq ft or less does not require a Building Permit.
If you would like EcoPod to act on your behalf in obtaining your permits, we offer our Permit Application Service for a flat rate of $2,950 in addition to your Ecopod purchase.

Note: Always consult a licensed Realtor or Real Estate Appraiser to assist you in determining what your real estate property valuation is, or could be, if considering adding additional living space or guest accommodations.
That said, while we can’t offer definite numbers regarding current property values any Licensed Realtor in Muskoka will tell you that a well-constructed single bedroom addition to a $1,000,000 cottage in Muskoka could potentially add between $50,000 and $75,000, (5% to 7.5%), to its overall value. A well-constructed separate 400 to 700 sq ft guest house or garden suite complete with a kitchen, 3 piece bathroom, living room, covered porch and separate bedroom would likely command much more.
Our most recent data from Dec 2023 shows there are 74,000 AirBnb Hosts in Ontario, with 38,000 active any given day. The average daily rate in Toronto is $150, with Muskoka commanding up to $250 per night for 2 bdrm cottages and homes.
There are also approximately 20,000 Hotel/Motel/Resort rooms available in Central Ontario. The average daily single room rate for Central Ontario is $175, with Muskoka commanding more.

Yes, please make an appointment. We spend time with each and every customer to explain the benefits of our EcoPods and how you can set one up just about anywhere. Make sure we can spend the right amount of time with you.
Appointment hours are Tuesday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Appointments on Saturday and Sunday afternoons are possible at times, depending on staff availability.
The tranquil hamlet of Berkeley, Ontario is located only approximately 1:45 hours North of Toronto.
It is a very pleasant drive away from all the traffic going up Hwy 400.
